Sometimes we face challenges that are difficult to overcome. You might feel overwhelmed and alone. Friends and family can offer their support and encouragement, but even with their best intentions, their help might not be enough. I work with people who are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, sad, depressed or experiencing difficult transitions in their lives.
Within a holistic approach, my work is focused on health promotion and personal growth. I strive to provide a secure environment in which my clients can explore their concerns and search for alternatives to solve their problems, cope with their symptoms, find joy, and live a full life.
Education and Training
I am a Licensed Psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s degree in Community – Social Psychology, both from the University of Puerto Rico. Through my professional experience, I have been involved in community organization and development, prevention, and health education as well as in the clinical practice of psychology.
Specifically, I use strategies from different therapeutic models including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and mindfulness, among others. During the therapeutic process, the person may find helpful insights to better understand what is happening to them. With this information, they establish their therapeutic goals and start using strategies to make changes. This is an active and collaborative process between client and therapist where the client not only identifies what bothers them but begins a process of transformation.
I provide bilingual psychological services including individual therapy and Evaluations for Immigration. I also provide educational services such as classes and coaching.
